About the Author: B. A. Williamson is the overly caffeinated writer of The Marvelous Adventures of Gwendolyn Gray. When not doing battle with the demons in the typewriter, he can be found wandering Indianapolis with his family, singing in a tuxedo, or taming middle-schoolers. He is a recipient of the Eli Lilly Teacher Creativity Fellowship. She shouted into the wind. “Once upon a time, there was a girl named Gwendolyn!” The wind tore her words away, but she persisted. “And she was tired of always making things worse! And losing everything that mattered! And she would not let anyone else get hurt! And then one day, she fired her magical pistol, and she saved the world!”

Gwendolyn Gray, despite her name, is a speck of color in a sea of black and white. She’s notoriously strange in a city full of boring, strict rules but rampant with bullies seeking to destroy anything unique. Gwendolyn’s incredible imagination is her only reprieve, but one day her imagination escapes her. When she imagines rabbit ears for a classmate, she knows she’s in trouble. She ends up on the run from a set of faceless enemies, befriends a clever inventor named Starling and a mischievous adventurer names Sparrow, and together they end up in the world of her favorite book: Kolonius Thrash and The Perilous Pirates.
Follow Gwendolyn, Sparrow, Starling, and Kolonius as they struggle to save not just one world, but a handful of others. If they can stop the Abscess in Tohk, then they can save everyone. B.A. Williamson’s debut novel is a thrilling dystopian turned steampunk, and is an adventure no one will want to miss.
